Vice President Leni Robredo also visited the small-scale irrigation project benefitting the farmers of Brgy. Casiligan in Pola, Oriental Mindoro on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020. The installation of the 12 units of shallow tube well and and 9 units of Pump Irrigation Systems for Open Source (PISOS) in Sitio Catmon was made possible through the funds provided under VP Leni’s locally-funded project.

The P1.9-million worth project would increase the productivity and income of around 60 farmers from Rambutan- Catmon (RAMBU-CAT) Farmers’ Association. It was completed in December 2019 in time for the dry season which starts in December until April of this year.

The rice production project is a flagship program of Pola LGU, which its then Mayor Leandro “Dodjie” Panganiban Jr. proposed when he participated in the Office of the Vice President’s Bridging Leadership Program in 2017.
