Akbayan Senator Risa Hontiveros spent some time with members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines at Victoriano Luna Hospital in Quezon City.

She donated musical instruments and exercise equipment to the hospital’s mental health and behavioral science department. Hontiveros, author of the Philippine Mental Health Law, also spoke about the importance of mental health of men and women in uniform.

“Mga sir, nagpapasalamat po kami sa inyong sakripisyo at paninilbihan sa bayan. Kaya po hayaan ninyong kami naman ang makatulong — kahit kaunti – sa inyong mga dinadala. ” she said in her message before singing Christmas songs with the hospital patients.
