A total of 7,579 security personnel and force multipliers were deployed on Wednesday to ensure peace and order during the 2026 Iloilo Dinagyang Festival.

In his message during the send-off ceremony, Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) officer in charge and commander of Site Task Group Dinagyang, Col. Wilbert Parilla, said the celebration is not just a festival of colors, drums, and dance but of faith, culture, and unity.

He said the event is also a shared responsibility of protecting life, maintaining order, and ensuring that joy is never disrupted by fear or uncertainty.

“To our deployed personnel, this send-off is our way of expressing trust and confidence in you. You are not just enforcers of the law – you are guardians of the celebration, silent protectors behind every smile, every beat of the drum, and every prayer offered during this festival,” he said.

The security force consists of 78 personnel working for command and control; 2,167 for security; 1,605 for peace and order; 655 for emergency preparedness and response; 877 for traffic management; and 2,197 force multipliers.

They are supported by 2,823 operational resources, including patrol vehicles, motorcycles, communication equipment, man trucks, ambulances, body-worn cameras, and drones.

Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Treñas appealed to the public to cooperate with the security personnel.

“Let us celebrate responsibly and respectfully. Please avoid unruly behavior. Do not be hard-headed, and drink responsibly. In doing so, we help maintain a safe, joyful, and harmonious atmosphere throughout the festival,” Treñas said in a statement. (PNA)
