The Department of Agrarian Reform-Cordillera Administrative Region (DAR-CAR) has distributed a total of 562 hectares to agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) from January to Dec. 6.

Data showed that 200 ARBs received Certificate of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) and electronic titles (e-titles) for 219 hectares from January to November.

Also, 502 ARBs from all six of the region’s provinces received their CLOAs and e-titles for 343 hectares during a mass distribution in Tabuk City, Kalinga on Dec. 6.

In last week’s event, there were 120 ARBs from Abra, 95 from Apayao, 129 from Benguet, 36 from Ifugao, 85 from Kalinga and 37 from Mountain Province.

Marcelo Guisoben, a Kalinga ARB, said he and his wife, Jacinta, are thankful to the government for the land titles which they can pass on to their children.

He received his CLOA for 3,752 square meters and his wife for a 6,564-square-meter property.

During the event, DAR also distributed seven farm-to-market roads projects worth PHP90 million and with a total length of 4.47 kilometers for Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province.

Four solar irrigation projects worth PHP51 million, which will irrigate 120 hectares of farmlands, were also distributed to beneficiaries from Kalinga and Mountain Province.

DAR-CAR also distributed PHP49 million worth of farm machineries and equipment that will benefit 2,267 ARBs who are members of 76 ARB organizations.

Certificates of condonation with release of mortgages were likewise issued to 1,944 past CLOA beneficiaries. (PNA)
