Thirty-five Filipinos have landed a spot in the 2024 Tatler Asia’s Gen.T Leaders of Tomorrow List, an annual roster that recognizes under 40 influential personalities making a positive impact and leading the change in Asia.

These Filipinos were among the 200+ young leaders across Asia recognized in this year’s Tatler Asia list. The list is composed of trailblazing entrepreneurs, investors, celebrities, social media superstars, Olympians, business executives, inventors, and civic advocates from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand.

Leading the pack of the honorees from the Philippines are Abi Marquez also known as the “Lumpia Queen,” who spotlights the intricacies of Filipino cuisine on the international stage; Joaquin Pedro Valdes, a Filipino theater actor who is making waves in West End; Chris Nick, the designer putting Filipino fashion on the global map; Christophe Bariou, a dedicated vegan and animal rights advocate; Amado Fores, an F&B prodigy; Zig Dulay, an award-winning director; Dean Bernales of Uniquecorn Strategies for shaping a positive narrative of the Philippine Startup ecosystem, Aleah Finnegan, a gymnast-olympian; and Nate Clarke, CEO of GoTyme Bank among others.

According to the Tatler Asia website, “These aren’t just names on a list; they’re over 200 passionate souls, each embodying the very best of what Asia has to offer. Whether they are founding tech startups or using their creativity for social change, their work embodies the spirit of leadership and excellence that Gen.T stands for.”

Tatler Asia selected winners based on metrics such as business growth (customers, revenue, volume, etc.), fundraising success, disruptive products or services, expanded geographical impact, respected industry awards, and more. Collectively, this year’s winners have raised US$461 million and have a combined following of 21 million. This year’s Filipino judges include celebrity host Tim Yap and Franco Varona of Foxmont Capital Partners.

Those on the list come across multiple categories covering The Arts (Art and Style, Food and Drink), Entertainment and Sports, Finance and Venture Capital; Media, Marketing and Advertising; Retail and e-commerce, Technology, Manufacturing and Energy, Healthcare and Science, and Social Impact.

The Gen.T list was inaugurated in 2016 by Tatler Asia to spotlight young changemakers in Asia. Previous winners from the Philippines were celebrity Nadine Lustre and Olympian Hidilyn Diaz. Philippine-based winners this year were recognized in an awards night last June 3 at Shangri-la the Fort. They were given a Tatler Asia magazine June 2024 issue with a personalized cover of each of the winners. Winners were also given the privilege to access past winners for networking and potential collaborations.

Tatler is a British magazine published by Condé Nast Publications that covers high society, targeting the British and global upper class and upper-middle class (Tatler Asia, etc.). Its readership is the wealthiest of all Condé Nast’s titles, surpassing Vogue Magazine.
