The Loreto local government will deliver roofing materials and emergency supplies on Monday to three island barangays (villages) hit hard by Typhoon Tino (international name Kalmaegi).

Barangays Liberty, Helene, and Magsaysay on Gibusong Island will receive corrugated sheets, nails, family tents, tarps, and hygiene kits.

“Preparations are ongoing to transport the support to the residents in Gibusong Island,” the LGU said in a statement, adding that coordination with village officials is complete.

Provincial disaster data shows Tino damaged 711 houses across the three barangays, with 190 totally destroyed and 521 partially damaged.

The LGU urged residents to help unload supplies from the transport boat arriving in Barangay Liberty on Monday afternoon.

“In this time of calamity, we ask for unity and everyone’s support,” the LGU Loreto said. (PNA)
