The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development in Caraga Region (DHSUD-13) provided financial assistance to 218 families whose homes were damaged by natural or human-induced disasters in a series of payout activities last week.

In a statement Monday, DHSUD-13 said the beneficiaries –from the cities of Butuan, Surigao, and Tandag, as well as the towns of Sison (Surigao del Norte), Cagwait (Surigao del Sur), and Prosperidad (Agusan del Sur)– received aid under the Integrated Disaster Shelter Assistance Program (IDSAP) from March 17 to 21.

Families with partially damaged houses were given PHP10,000 each, while those with totally damaged homes received PHP30,000 each, it said.

The payouts were based on DHSUD Memorandum Circular No. 2024-007, issued on Aug. 21, 2024, which outlines the amended guidelines for IDSAP Phase 1.

“The IDSAP continues to accommodate qualified beneficiaries in the region, ensuring they receive the necessary shelter support from the government to overcome financial hardships,” DHSUD-13 said. (PNA)
