The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said the voters’ registration from July 4 to 23 saw 2,936,979 signing up nationwide.

The 15-17 age bracket lured the most registrants at 1,814,907; followed by the 18-30 group at 963,418; and 158,654 among those aged 31 and above.

The youngest age group can vote in the Sangguniang Kabataan elections while the adults can cast their ballots for the barangay (village) polls, both slated on December 5.

“Thank you very much for your cooperation with the Comelec. Long live the Philippines,” Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said in a statement on Monday.

The Voter’s Registration Nationwide Consolidated Registration Report showed 20,643 applied for transfer with reactivation; 7,153 for transfer with reactivation and correction of entries; and 25,683 for transfer with correction of entries.

There were also 128,623 applications for reactivation; 29,142 for reactivation with correction of entries; 74,146 for change of names/correction of entries; 180 for inclusion in the Book of Voters; 45 for reinstatement in the List of Voters; and 7,487 for transfer from overseas voting to local.

Overall, a total of 3,900,250 applications were processed. (PNA)
