At least 178 police applicants in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) who have recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) can now resume their application process, health authorities said Tuesday.

This, after Maguindanao’s Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) gave them the green light as they completed their two-week isolation.

The police applicants and three police officers tested positive for Covid-19 on October 25 and were quarantined at the Notre Dame of Parang High School campus in Parang, Maguindanao.

“They were declared clinically recovered after completing the 14-day mandatory quarantine,” said Dr. Elizabeth Samama, Maguindanao health chief.

Representatives of the Ministry of Health (BARMM), IPHO-Maguindanao, Parang’s rural health unit, and the regional police have created a monitoring group to enforce health and safety protocols on the prevention and control of Covid-19 during the police recruitment process in the region. (PNA)
