Every day is a battle against COVID-19. For most of us, the best support that we can give to our brave frontline workers is to stay inside our homes to prevent the spread and transmission of the virus.

On the other hand, medical frontliners continue to fight the global crisis in spite of the danger just to keep the nation safe and cure their patients as well.

Unfortunately, on the night of March 31, another doctor has succumbed to COVID-19 – joining the increasing number of healthcare workers who have died from the deadly disease.

Dr. Janette Dancel-Liban, a practitioner assigned at FEU-NRMF Medical Center and the National Kidney and Transplant Institute, died on the night of March 31.

“She was attending to a number of COVID-19 patients until she too was confined and brought to the ICU last Saturday. She passed away this evening,” Lemuel R. Aguilan wrote on Facebook.

A hero and an active Methodist, as her friends describe her. Dr. Janette is among those who have fought bravely to end the pandemic. Soldiers like her are too good for this world.
