The Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education in the Bangsamoro Region in Muslim Mindanao (MBHTE-BARMM) has begun the distribution of printing supplies to schools in support of the implementation of the learning continuity plan in the region.

MBHTE-BARMM Minister Mohagher Iqbal said Saturday initial recipients of the more than 13,000 boxes of printing materials were this city and the 63 villages covered under the Special Geographic Area (SGA) in six towns of North Cotabato that now form part of the region.

“For a start, we had distributed on Friday a total of 1,973 boxes of bond papers to schools in the BARMM’s SGA,”
Iqbal told reporters here in an interview.

He said of the total number of bond paper supplies for the SGA, 1,550 boxes were given to 85 public elementary schools, and 423 boxes to 21 secondary schools.

Cotabato City received a total of 6,962 boxes for 28 public elementary, and 4,447 for 15 secondary schools.

Iqbal said the MBHTE remains committed to deliver and ensure continuity of education despite the challenges brought by the pandemic.

“Rest assured, the MBHTE shall strive to provide the Bangsamoro learners and educators with quality education alongside quality service,” he said, adding that the remaining nine schools division in the region will have their supplies soon.

The BARMM comprises the cities of Marawi, Lamitan, and Cotabato; the provinces of Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Basilan, and Tawi-Tawi; and the SGA in North Cotabato. (PNA)
