Aside from being a house representative, Bienvenido Abante Jr is also a pastor. He served as A representative of Manila from 2004 to 2010 and became representative again in 2019. He has principal authored pending bills such as making bible reading mandatory in public elementary and secondary schools. Another pending bill he has principal authored entails exempting bibles and other religious articles from tax.
