More than 11,500 residents of the Bicol region benefited from social, health, and livelihood services provided by the “Tarabangan Caravan” conducted by the Ako Bicol (AKB) Party-List from March to October this year.

In an interview on Thursday, Sally Luces, AKB media relations officer, said they conducted at least 23 caravans in the six provinces of the region.

“The Tarabangan Caravan is a priority program of the Ako-Bicol Party-List led by Rep. Elizaldy Co. It’s a one-stop shop of services from free medical check-ups, medicines, entertainment, free massages, and haircuts. Local recruitment was also available during the one-day event. We want to ensure that we can provide and give the services of the government closer to the people, especially from the remote areas,” Luces said.

She said that every caravan served a minimum of 500 individuals.

“Sometimes it exceeds. For 2025 we will conduct more Tarabangan Caravans to ensure the continuity of the service for the people,” Luces said.

During Thursday’s caravan in Barangay Mariawa here, village chief Anabelle Teope thanked the AKB for the opportunity given to her constituents for free access to various services.

“Thank you, AKB; our fellow residents appreciate this assistance, especially for our vulnerable sectors, the senior citizens, pregnant women, and children,” Teope said.

AKB executive director Alfredo Garbin said the caravan will continue as one of the services of the party-list to help ease the plight of the people, especially the indigent sector. (PNA)
