Some 100 public school teachers under the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division Office (SDO) of Negros Occidental, who were promoted under the Expanded Career Progression (ECP) System, renewed their commitment to service during their oathtaking on Monday.

Schools Division Superintendent Gladys Amylaine Sales, who administered the oath in a ceremony held at the SDO grounds here, said the approval of their reclassification recognizes the educators’ dedication, competence and commitment to excellence in public service.

The 100 teachers include 65 who were reclassified to Teacher VI, 30 to Teacher V and five to Teacher IV.

“I hope, dear teachers, that your promotion will further inspire you to become better. I know that you have done your best, but with all the challenges we’re facing right now, we need to (do) more,” Sales said in her message.

In a statement, the DepEd Negros Occidental said the teachers’ oathtaking ceremony symbolizes their renewed commitment to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and service in advancing quality education for learners and communities across the division.

“The SDO extends its congratulations to all teacher-beneficiaries, recognizing their achievement as a testament to their hard work and professional growth,” it added.

The ECP System for Teachers and School Heads is implemented pursuant to Executive Order 174, series of 2022, which establishes the Expanded Career Progression System for Public School Teachers, along with its Implementing Rules and Regulations.

The ECP aims to strengthen professional development and provide clearer pathways for career advancement among teachers and school heads, anchored on established qualifications and professional standards. (PNA)
