The city government is appropriating PHP10 million for the construction of three clustered isolation facilities in three barangays here.

Dr. Elemir Jade Apolinario, City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) chief, said Thursday the isolation facilities will be constructed in Barangays Curuan, Sangali, and Ayala to help address the backlog of quarantine areas.

Apolinario said the isolation facilities located in Barangay Cabatangan, the ADZU-Lantaka, Euntes in Barangay Sinunuc, and Zamboecozone in Barangay Talisayan are already full of Covid-19 patients.

Several of the locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) are housed in different hotels and pension houses due to lack of isolation facilities, the CDRRMO official said.

The City Health Office (CHO) reported Thursday 17 additional new Covid-19 cases, raising the total tally for this city to 546 as of July 28.

CHO said the new cases are six residents, six LSIs, and five ROFs.

The health office also recorded 267 recoveries with 16 mortalities. The number of active cases stood at 263 as of Thursday. (PNA)
