Toyota Motor Philippines Concludes Toyota Vios Cup Season 5

The Toyota Manila South Circuit just had its second race at Filinvest, Alabang this July 29 concluding the 5th season of the Toyota Vios Cup.

Kapamilya Star Diego Loyzaga won first place at the Celebrity Class race and mentioned on his Instagram post that it was his dream to be a race car driver ever since he was a kid and was made possible when Toyota accepted him to be one of their celebrity Vios cup drivers.

This weekend was a weekend for the books. It was my dream to be a race car driver since i was a kid. A dream that came true when toyota accepted me to be one of their celebrity Vios cup drivers. After doing my first leg and having a taste of the racing world last april in clark, I wanted to prove to myself that this dream i was chasing was a dream that was within my grasp. This weekend was where i was finally able to prove to myself that it is. I placed second in the QTT and that alone amazed me beyond words. Then come the first race, something i didnt believe could happen, happened. I won. I was first in our class. I was at a loss for words. Kinda even got teary eyed. My heart was beating so fast. The feeling was nothing like ive ever felt before. Have you ever seen or felt your dream unfold and see it infront of you? That was me this weekend. I got to see my dream come true. This has to be one of the most fulfilling things ive done in my life so far. Thank you Toyota for making this kid the happiest kid in the world. Most of all, thank you, God 🙏🏽 #ViosCupSeason5 #ToyotaMotorPhilippines #BridgestonePH #ROTAWheels #Petron #MotulPh #BremboPH #TeamDenso #AVTPH #3M #TuasonRacing #GazooRacing #TRD #OMP #WakuDoki #Startthefun

He also expressed his gratitude to Toyota for making him the “happiest kid in the world”.

The Vios Cup had its roots in the Thai racing scene as a street circuit race before it was brought to the Philippines.

The race track occupied parts of Commerce Avenue, Promenade Street, Parkway Avenue, & ASEAN Drive. Six celebrity racers had put their driving skills to the test along with 46 more drivers for a total of 52 racers all-in-all.

It was a fun and intense race day, and the results are in! Congratulations to all the winners of #ViosCup2018 Race 2.
