Even if jazz music isn’t your jam, it’s worth experiencing this. Over the years, this festival has been attracting visitors all over the world and promoting the island’s local industry. Founded in 1922, St. Lucia Jazz Festival is the annual music and arts festival which takes place every first two weeks of May in St. Lucia, Caribbean islands.
A wide spectrum of jazz music will welcome you to this event, starting from traditional jazz, acoustical/straight-ahead jazz, new-age jazz and fusion, and a lot more brought to you by different jazz artists all over the world.
It has been recognized as one of the Caribbean’s leading music events and one of the world’s ‘top five’ jazz festivals. In 2011, the festival historically celebrated its 20th anniversary as several other Jazz festivals established in the Caribbean region had failed.
According to a report from Caribbean360 in 2016, this traditional festival was announced to be discontinued and will be changed into a Summer Festival, composed of series of events starting from the signature Jazz Festival.
