The implementation of the K-12 program in the Philippines proved a challenge for education school systems to raise the standards of learning and teaching across academic institutions. In order to prepare senior high graduates for tertiary education and eventual employment, it became necessary for both public and private schools and even universities to improve learning environments, upgrade teachers’ skills, and engage with stakeholders for support and collaboration.

For STI Education Services Group, Inc. (STI ESG), however, the call to meet a global education standard was an opportunity to build on its already strong school foundation and growing academe. Through development of an industry-driven curriculum and a unique employment-oriented framework, coupled by accredited faculty members and activities that also foster the personal growth of its students, STI has positioned itself as a prominent learning institution in the country.

Further testament on STI’s commitment to achieving world-class quality education are in the academic programs and learning opportunities it provides its students to hone their skills and to holistically develop as individuals. Such is also reflected in its expansive network and numerous partnerships with esteemed players across varying industries and government entities, namely Cypher Learning, Government Services Insurance System (GSIS), ABS-CBN, UnionBank of the Philippines, SITEL, The Heritage Hotel Manila, Department of Education, Microsoft, and OSM Maritime Group to name a few.

Aside from bringing more recognition to STI’s name, these linkages have also brought real-world experience through internships, work programs, trainings and seminars, scholarship programs, and contests, where students can apply their knowledge and skills.

Furthermore, as one of the biggest education institutions in the country, STI College remains steadfast in fulfilling its founding mandate of producing college-ready and life-ready graduates. To achieve this feat, STI begins during the more pivotal years of Senior High School (SHS) where students are already being prepared for whatever career path they may choose.

STI, as the largest pioneer of SHS in the Philippines, understands the importance of equipping its students with strong skills and the proper foundations to earn a degree and decent employment. Aside from employing the same global standard of teaching and learning among its senior high schools, STI also introduces modern and relevant programs and tools to aid incoming college students.

The newly implemented STI College Admission Test—the aim of which is to measure students’ aptitude and personality prior to admission to an STI school—is one of STI’s most recent interventions to guide senior high students as they pursue college education in any STI school.

“As part of our commitment to enhance our student’s essential life skills in order to succeed in their endeavors, we developed this tool to help STI schools gain a better understanding of their students,” explains STI VP for Academics Aisa Q. Hipolito.

Through their class-leading education, industry-adept programs, promising linkages, and relevant programs that prioritizes the educational and personal development of its students, STI continues to further cements its position as a pioneer on how meeting a global standard can transform Philippine education.
