The National Basketball Association (NBA) has announced that its 74th Season will start on July 31, after a four-month hiatus due to the global pandemic of COVID-19. With the upcoming NBA Restart, Globe Telecom is looking to introduce Filipinos to a new way to play basketball with its newest sports and fitness partner, HomeCourt.

“We are the second biggest basketball market in Asia, and to keep your love for the game alive, both on and off the court, we’re providing Filipinos access to next level mobile basketball training through our partnership with HomeCourt” says Jil Bausa-Go, Globe VP for Get Entertained Tribe. “We look forward to further augment the Filipino digital sports experience by recreating the way Filipinos play basketball.”

Filipino basketball fans can remain game-ready like their favorite NBA superstars with the help of Globe’s newest sports technology partner, HomeCourt.

HomeCourt is a new way to play and engage in sports activities at home. Powered by advanced mobile AI, it uses the cameras on your device to turn sports training into a live action video game. In 2019, HomeCourt became an official NBA partner in delivering a new mobile training experience for the next generation of basketball players and athletes. Since its launch, HomeCourt has been recognized as the most innovative company and technology in Sports and has tracked over 1 billion dribbles and 100 million shots in over 200 countries. It has also started to expand beyond basketball and introduced football drills and more general fitness activities to help everyone stay active and healthy with their families while at-home.

“I wish I had technology like HomeCourt when I was learning how to play,” said two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash. “As professional basketball players, we know how important it is to have the best training tools and basketball knowledge to fully develop your game. We are excited to help the next generation of Filipino basketball players reach their potential with HomeCourt.”

“We are incredibly proud to be Globe’s exclusive partner in expanding HomeCourt’s presence in the Philippines,” said David Lee, Co-Founder and CEO of NEX Team. “We share Globe’s commitment to enrich the lives of Filipinos, and our partnership now brings Homecourt into the palm of every Filipino’s hands—helping everyone stay active and healthy while having a lot of fun, even when at home.”

Globe Postpaid and Globe Platinum customers are eligible to avail a 3-month free HomeCourt subscription through the Globe Rewards App. Globe Platinum Subscribers can also avail of the freebie through Thea, the digital assistant, or their Platinum Relationship Manager. The promo is available to Globe Platinum subscribers starting July 24 and will be made progressively available to Globe Postpaid customers beginning August 4. HomeCourt is available only on the App Store for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch devices on iOS 12 and up.

“Sports, especially basketball, is a major part of the Filipino way of life. Now that major leagues are starting to return to play, Globe is at the forefront of supporting pursuits that inspire millions of Filipino fans,” Bausa-Go concluded.
