Starting March 15, snorkeling fee in this world-renowned resort island will be doubled from PHP20 to PHP40.
The new rule is pursuant to Memorandum Order No. 2017-28 ordered by Malay Mayor Ceciron Cawaling.
The collection of fees for snorkeling activities is in accordance with Municipal Revenue Ordinance No. 279, series of 2009.
Snorkeling is one of the activities that tourists in Boracay can enjoy.
Among the identified snorkeling areas in the island are the offshore areas in Sitio Tambisaan in Manocmanoc, Angol Point, between Willy’s Place and Friday’s, Sambiray and Coral Garden in Casa Pilar.
Also listed are Ilig-iligan Reef, Balinghai Reef, Said to Sawang Reef offshore Sitio Bolobag, Tabon Point Reef and Tulubhan Reef. (PNA)
