One of the most iconic weddings in history will took place three months from now – and everyone is just so excited when the Royal love birds revealed details of their ceremony this coming May 19, 2018 in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, England. No doubt, their union will attract huge attention around the world – truly a fairy tale love story turned into reality!
Kensington Palace has revealed some of the exciting details of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big day, and how royal watchers will get to see them after they wed. The wedding ceremony is set to begin at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor, about 20 miles west of London, at noon local time. The Right Rev. David Conner, the dean of Windsor, has been tapped to conduct the wedding service, while The Most Rev. Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, will officiate when the couple takes their marriage vows, the statement reads.
Following the hour-long wedding ceremony, at 1pm, Prince Harry and Meghan will share the joy of their wedding day with the public by taking a romantic carriage ride through the streets of Windsor after exchanging vows. It will start at St. George’s Chapel, leave Windsor Castle via Castle Hill, continue along High Street through Windsor Town before returning to Windsor Castle on a route called the Long Walk.
“They hope this short journey will provide an opportunity for more people to come together around Windsor and enjoy the atmosphere of this special day,” the Kensington Palace statement reads.
"So you know, the fact that I fell, the fact that I fell in love with Meghan so incredibly quickly was a sort of confirmation to me that everything, all the stars were aligned. Everything was just perfect. It was this beautiful woman just sort of that — she tripped and fell into my life; I fell into her life. The fact that she, I know that the fact that she'll be really unbelievably good at the job part of it as well is almost is a huge relief to me because she'll be able to deal with everything else that comes with it. But, no, we're a fantastic team. We know we are." Meghan & Harry during their first interview, with Mishal Husain • 27 November 2017
The actual guest list is a closely guarded secret — and details about it may not be released until the event is underway. But that hasn’t stopped speculation about who’s in or who’s out. Their wedding venue, St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, holds a mere 800 guests – a huge cut from previous royal weddings! That’s why it’s going to be tough to cut that list.
The 33-year-old prince and his 36-year-old American actor fiance have gone against tradition by choosing a Saturday, as royal weddings usually take place on a weekday. The Queen and the rest of the royal family will be there, along with Markle’s parents – Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland. Prince George and Princess Charlotte are likely to take on the roles of pageboy and bridesmaid.
Prince Harry, the fifth in line to the British throne, and Meghan Markle, an actress who was born and raised in Los Angeles, announced their engagement in November. Meghan would soon be part of the British royal family lineup of stunning, empowered women – from Queen Elizabeth, Princess Diana, and Kate Middleton.
The palace said further details about the wedding day will be revealed in the weeks and months ahead.
