The Hannah’s Beach Resort and Convention Center (HBRCC) in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte was again awarded the 2017 Most Outstanding Tourist Destination in the Philippines by the Gawad Amerika Foundation (GAF), an organization of Filipinos based in the United States and supported by various American non-profit groups.
Known for advocating eco-tourism by being a constant host to international beauty pageants for a cause, the seven-hectare Hannah’s beach resort property nestled at the foot of a mountain overlooking the blue lagoon and powdery white sand of Maira-ira Cove in Balaoi village, Pagudpud town continues to reap local and international awards as a major tourist destination in this northern gateway of Luzon.
Retired Col. Ricardo Nolasco Jr. of the Philippine Air Force, owner of Hannah’s resort, received the award recently from GAF during the Gawad Amerika Awards Night held in Hollywood, California.
The citation states: “the success and remarkable achievements of Hannah’s Beach Resort and Convention Center, locally and internationally, have been recognized not only by this organization, but most of all by the local community.”
Fresh from the United States, Nolasco said Wednesday he is grateful for the prestigious award which manifests Hannah’s corporate social responsibility on environment protection and preservation while creating a sustainable livelihood for the locals.
Launched in September 2002, the Gawad Amerika Awards Night is an annual event to honor the excellent performance of individuals and entrepreneurs even above and beyond their area of specialization.
Hannah’s Beach Resort is close to becoming a Hall of Famer in the Gawad Amerika Award as it also received similar recognitions in 2014 and 2015. (PNA)
