The North Cotabato provincial government said it hopes to boost infrastructure projects with the acquisition of more than PHP304.5-million worth of brand-new road building equipment.
North Cotabato Governor Emmylou Mendoza said the equipment was turned over to the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) on June 7.
The new fleet of heavy equipment included two vibrating compactors; two motor graders (air conditioned); two-wheel loaders (air conditioned); three hydraulic excavators; six 10-wheeler dump trucks; one asphalt paver (pneumatic); one six-wheeler water truck; one double drum roller; and one air-conditioned pneumatic tire roller.
“These brand-new heavy road equipment will hasten the construction and concreting of roads to make far-flung communities accessible to town centers,” Mendoza said in a statement.
She said it was the 4th set of heavy equipment procured and turned over to the PEO since she assumed office in 2010.
The first procurement was in 2014 where a total of PHP175.3 million was used to purchase the machines that included wheel loaders, motor graders, vibratory road rollers, backhoe loaders, and dump trucks. (PNA)
