Mountain Province has recorded its second coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) case, the Department of Health (DOH) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) reported on Sunday.

In its tracker, the DOH-CAR showed that the new case is a 29-year-old female.

This brings to 137 the total number of cases in the region, 27 of whom are still in a medical or isolation facility.

Mountain Province recorded its very first coronavirus case in June.

On Saturday evening, the Health department also reported Benguet’s 49th case, a 30-year-old male. This brought to 13 the number of active cases in the province, the highest number in the region.

Baguio, an independent city, has 51 cases, five of whom are active including the 51st case from Bakakeng Norte village here, who is reported to be in critical condition.

Apayao has four active cases with eight recoveries for a total of 12 cases.

Abra has one remaining active case from the nine it has recorded. Kalinga has two active cases of the eight recorded.

Ifugao which has one remaining active case, had a total of six.

Cordillera has a high recovery rate of 78.8 percent with 108 recoveries against two deaths. (PNA)
