A magnitude 4.9 earthquake rattled Ilocos Norte province at 3:06 p.m. Thursday, state seismologists said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake was tectonic in origin with a depth of 21 km. and its epicenter was located at 43 km. northwest of Santa Catalina, Ilocos Sur.
The tremor was felt at Intensity 5 in Sinait, Ilocos Sur; and Intensity 3 in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, as well as in neighboring Vigan City and Santa, Ilocos Sur.
Phivolcs said it does not expect reports of damage caused by the earthquake. (PNA)
