LOOK: Winners Of The 2017 Emmy Awards

The Annual primetime Emmy Awards honors the best in USA primetime television programming as chosen by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The grand ceremony was held last Sunday, September 17 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. The ceremony was hosted by Stephen Colbert. Here are the big winners for this year’s Emmy Awards.

The big awards were given to Elisabeth Moss winning Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in “The Handmaid’s Tale” and Sterling K. Brown for winning Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in “This Is Us”.

Nicole Kidman also rejoiced for winning Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie in “Big Little Lies” and the show winning Outstanding Limited Series while Riz Ahmed won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie for “The Night Of”.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus also won back-to-back awards for her series “Veep” winning Outstanding Comedy Series and her being the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Donald Glover got the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for “Atlanta”.

Lena Weithe took the stage with pride and honor representing the LGBT community. She received much praise for her being the first ever African-American to win an Emmy for writing.

“The Voice” was announced as the Outstanding Reality-Competition Program, “Last Week Tonight With John Oliver” for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series and “Saturday Night Live” for Variety Sketch Series.

RuPaul Charles also went up the stage for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program in his show, “RuPaul’s Drag Race”.
