It is very rare to see a real-life astronaut walking past by you on the street or get a chance to talk to one for that matter (and maybe jokingly ask about aliens), but what’s more unusual is to actually spot one here in the Philippines. That’s right, a real life astronaut who traveled to space visited the Philippines for History Con 2017. The four-day event which started August 10, 2017 and ended at August 13, 2017 at the World Trade Center, took Barry E. Wilmore as their guest for the big event.

Barry Wilmore is a captain of the U.S. Navy and a NASA Astronaut who traveled in two spaceflights in the year 2014 and the year 2009 and has a total of 178 days in space.

The astronaut apparently became the center of attention for some of the people present in the opening of the event, that even celebrities from the different shows of History channel was awed by his presence. During an exclusive talk, Barry shared his experiences as an astronaut when he was still training, up to the time that he was already in space. He even showed a video that sums up everything he experienced from up there.

He also shared stories about the beautiful sight of the Earth from their space station plus the image of our very own Manila, Philippines from the outer space. Those who were lucky enough to see him and maybe even got to have a picture with him, it would the best remembrance to keep, for according to Wilmore himself, there are around 75 astronauts who are active out of the billions of people in the world.
