Kris Aquino is going to Hollywood.
The “Queen of All Media” has formally signed a contract with a US talent agency, East West Artists in Los Angeles on Monday, April 17.
There’s still no disclosure of which Hollywood film she’ll be in or whose character she will be playing. However, there are speculations that the international project would be based on the 2013 bestselling novel of Kevin Kwan entitled Crazy Rich Asians about an old-wealth Singaporean family, its matriarch Eleanor Young and its heir apparent—the Ivy-League-educated Nick Young, who flies home to Singapore for a friend’s wedding with his New Yorker girlfriend in tow.
Kris, on the other, remained tight-lipped about the project. “I signed a non-disclosure agreement, so until they reveal my participation, I can’t share any details about the movie and my role,” she stressed on her post in Instagram.
Through her Instagram post, Aquino supporters assumed that she was giving a hint about the upcoming Hollywood movie she’s getting into.
In her post, she expressed how thrilled she is for being followed by author Kevin Kwan on Instagram. She also stated that the Crazy Rich Asians novelist is one of her favorite writers. Moreover, she posted a photo of Kevin Kwan’s trilogy novel days back serving as a hint for the big project. She wrote, “#Fangirl mode- sorry just had to post because I WAS SO THRILLED! 1 of my favorite authors @kevinkwanbooks is now following me.”
Kris Aquino flew to Los Angeles on Sunday, April 16 with her son after passing an audition. She explained that she’s undergone “5 levels of intense scrutiny” before winning the role.
Kris Aquino came back on the television screen on April 9 via TV Special Trip ni Kris on GMA 7, months after finishing contract with ABS-CBN.
