The Ilocos Norte Tourism Office (INTO) here has announced that with the onset of summer, the provincial government will again hire tourist aides to assist visitors.
Expecting the influx of visitors in the coming summer holidays, INTO chief Ianree Raquel said students and young professionals who are looking for employment are most preferred.
The tourism employment program is one of the priority programs of the provincial government to boost employment opportunities for students in the province.
Aside from tourist aides, Raquel said first aide personnel/nurses are also needed to be deployed to various tourism destinations manned by the local government.
Interested applicants may forward their resumé to the INTO.
On Tuesday, at least 172 students who served as tourist aides last December received their salary, courtesy of the provincial government.
The distribution of salary and a certificate of completion was led by Senior Board member, Matthew Joseph Manotoc, held at the Ilocos Norte Centennial Arena.
Each of them received PHP5,060 for assisting tourists for a period of 20 days. (PNA) CVL/LGA
