Gilas Pilipinas ended its campaign in the FIBA 3×3 World Cup on a high note after blasting Russia, 19-12, at the Philippine Arena on Monday night.
A little more than an hour after losing a chance to make the quarterfinals following a loss to Canada, Gilas vented its ire on Russia, quickly opening a 14-3 lead and never looking back.
While it already reached 19 points with about two minutes left, Agila’s actually decided for the 21-point kill but the team failed to convert the two-balls down the stretch.
Gilas exited the competition at third place in Pool C with a 2-2 record, while Russia settled for fourth place at 2-2. (PNA)
