Ed Sheeran will be facing another lawsuit claiming that he plagiarized Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” in his hit single “Thinking Out Loud”.
As a partial owner of the rights to “Let’s Get It On”, Structured Asset Sales will be filing a $100 million copyright infringement lawsuit against Ed Sheeran for blatantly copying elements from the song in his 2014 single “Thinking Out Loud”.
According to the lawsuit, Ed Sheeran and co-writer Amy Wadge copied elements including but not limited to the melody, rhythms, harmonies, drums, bass line, backing chorus, tempo, syncopation and looping of Marvin Gaye’s 1972 classic in their song.
Robin Thicke, who’s also faced allegations for plagiarizing a Marvin Gaye song (“Blurred Lines”), reached out to Ed Sheeran to offer him some advice.
Hey @edsheeran, call me.

Aside from “Thinking Out Loud”, Ed Sheeran is also currently facing a $20 million lawsuit over “The Rest Of Our Life”, a song he composed for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.
