It was a mundane July 23 when Simon Cowell figured that forming a boy group composed of 5 then-regular yet extraordinary contestants from different areas of Europe: the One Direction.

The 5-piece boyband―composed of former member Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson―went on to break records and become a phenomenon that has been comparable to The Beatles (as said in “One Direction: This Is Us”). However, at this point, unless you’re living under a rock, you already know how it turned out.

On March 22, 2015, One Direction’s first day concert in Manila, Zayn refused to come with the team. A few days later, he announced his departure due to “stress”.

“I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight,” the former member wrote in the statement. “I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world.”

The same year, the boys announced that they will be going on an 18-month break. And even though they didn’t fulfill their promise of returning, the One Direction fans (aka Directioners) still get their hopes up for a possible comeback or a reunion. In the meantime, they have been indulging on the solo music released by the members.

One Direction has come up with 5 albums that were regularly released every November for five consecutive years. These are: Up All Night, Take Me Home, Midnight Memories, FOUR, and Made In The A.M. On the other hand, some fan-favorite tracks are They Don’t Know About Us, No Control, Stockholm Syndrome, Over Again, and more.

On this day, 10 years ago, One Direction was founded. The date also triggered fans to be extremely nostalgic over the iconic band that made their teenage years.

From the video diaries to the funny moments to the “fetus” pictures , here’s how fans commemorated One Direction’s 10th anniversary:
