The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Friday welcomed the announcement that United States (US) President Donald Trump will attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit that will be held in the country in November.
“We welcome the announcement made by US Vice President Mike Pence that US President Donald Trump will participate in the East Asia Summit and the ASEAN-US Leaders’ Summit to be hosted by the Philippines in November,” the DFA said in a statement.
During a visit to the ASEAN headquarters on Thursday, Pence said Trump would attend three summits in Asia in November, including the ASEAN summit and the East Asia summit in the Philippines and the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Vietnam. (PNA) LDV
