This time of the year we would usually see a lot of people queuing up at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) to watch films that are featured in the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival, Philippines’ biggest independent film festival.

But sadly, due to the pandemic, we won’t be seeing any of the films featured in the festival in CCP anytime soon. But, fortunately, the spirit and the love of independent filmmakers for their craft didn’t stop despite the unforeseen situation that we have right now. Filipino independent filmmakers continued to create stories that would compel and inspire Filipinos amidst the pandemic. And for everyone to be able to see and watch these great stories, the Cinemalaya 2020 will continue but this time it will be held online.

Cinemalaya 2020’s featured films will be available on Vimeo from August 7 to 16 in various bundles, which can be purchased on the Cinemalaya channel online.
