“We have a completely unrealistic view of a woman’s body,” said Camilla Cabello, who took to using Instagram Stories to advocate for the need for body positivity.
The Señorita singer was originally going to make a post for the two-year anniversary of her hit single Havana before she accidentally came across “a head line of people body shaming me.” While it initially caused her to feel insecure, Cabello realized that the problem was bigger than just herself. She wrote: “The saddest part of young girls growing up in an airbrushed world is that they’re seeking a perfection that’s not real.”
She went on to say that she was speaking out for girls like her little sister who are growing up in a time when social media dominates everything—even the way women see themselves. “Girls, cellulite is normal. Fat is normal. It’s beautiful and natural,” Cabello emphasized.
