Fervently pursuing technology beyond limits, Acer Philippines integrates the future of technology and education in the academe by partnering with Department of Science and Technology (DOST) – Science Education Institute (SEI) in an event entitled, ‘SWITCH’
A students’ workshop on innovative technology, Student Worshop on Innovative Technologies Challenge (SWITCH) was held at Miriam College which hosted numerous speakers in the field of technology to talk to grade school and high school student on technological innovation. Opening the eyes and broadening the knowledge of the youth, it gives attendees a boost of encouragement to enter the field of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) when they step into college.
Aligned with Acer Philippines’ desire to reach out to the education sector, students present experienced and learned of the possibilities behind the CloudProfessor. An open panel also took place wherein students’ concerns and queries, such as internet security and CloudProfessor’s overall impact to manpower and the Philippine Economy, unfolded during the event.
“When the Acer CloudProfessor was created, the idea was for it to serve as a kit for students and users to explore more of their creativity. Also, to help enhance their logical thinking and problem solving skills,” said Alex De Guzman, Business Development Manager of Acer Philippines.
As it also slowly penetrates the science sectors and innovation centers of schools and colleges, Acer envisions the CloudProfessor to become a crucial partner in the learning process of students in the classroom – especially of its Acer Academy member schools.
Aside from possibly providing numerous academes with their own CloudProfessor kits, Acer hopes to integrate the system in the curriculum by conducting numerous seminars for students and educators.
