The Antique Provincial Police Office (APPO) will conduct a three-day License To Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) and Firearms Registration at the Advance Central College in this capital from October 11 to 13.
Superintendent Norby Escobar, deputy director of APPO, said in an interview Monday that the three-day activity is part of the firearms registration caravan in Western Visayas.
“There would be drug testing, neuro-examination and gun safety seminar to be conducted among firearm holders,” Escobar said.
He added the activity was requested by the Police Provincial Advisory Council so that Antiquenos who have expired firearm registrations no longer need to go to Iloilo to apply.
He said the applicants should just bring their identification cards, expired gun licenses and other pertinent documents.
Meanwhile, Escobar said they have now shifted to normal police operations with the postponement of the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections to May 2018.
“We are again focused on supply reduction of illegal drugs and on the drug rehabilitation of surrenderers,” he said. (PNA)
