2018 An Even Bigger Year For MIBF

The highly anticipated Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) is all set for a grander year of books, books, and more books! Slated on Sept. 12-16 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City, the 39th MIBF will again be opening two floors of exhibit space to make sure bookworms get the most of their visit.

“Fairgoers are in for an exciting ride at this year’s MIBF,” says Irene Lloren, president of MIBF organizer Primetrade Asia, Inc. “The book fair attendees have grown exponentially through the years so to cater to its growing audience, we have made sure that the activities and exhibitors in the 39th MIBF will be truly exciting for everyone.”

MIBF will have over 100 exhibitors ranging from local indie publishers to big bookstore chains. With an expected 150,000 visitors for this year’s fair, MIBF has again dedicated the second floor to special exhibitions featuring children’s and young adult book publishers, including digital publications kids and kids at heart are sure to enjoy. Attendees can get a hold of exclusive deals and limited items like new releases, bestsellers, and collector’s items, and even digital and physical teaching materials to assist educators with alternative teaching methods in the two floors of the MIBF.

Highlighting this year’s five-day affair are book signings, book launches, meet and greets, storytelling sessions for kids, special contests, workshops, and other activities for bookworms both young and old!

The very first POP HUB: Comic Splash x Fandom Fest Vol. 1 is co-locating the MIBF on September 15 and 16 at the SMX Function Room 3. Geek out with the country’s largest fandoms – Fight Saber, a Lucasfilm-recognized worldwide costuming organization; Philippine Garrison, the local organization of the international 501st Legion; Philippine Tolkien Society; Hamilton Philippines; and among others and come together with renowned comic book creators, artists, writers, and collectors for a weekend of fun fellowship among fandoms!

This year’s MIBF and Pop Hub are supported by ABS-CBN Publishing Inc. as media partner. The MIBF is organized by Primetrade Asia, Inc. in partnership with Asian Catholic Communicators, Inc., Book Development Association of the Philippines, Philippine Booksellers Association, Inc., and the Overseas Publishers Representatives’ Association of the Philippines.
