Your work is due in a few hours, but you’re a blank slate. Your creative juices have just stopped flowing. No matter how hard you try, the material you do succeed in producing has no quality whatsoever. So what now?

1. Step back and think about something else

Forcing it out when it just isn’t there won’t do anything. You’re going to waste time doing something you just can’t do. And besides, is it even worth it if what you’re going to end up writing isn’t good at all? What you need is some space: take a step back and breathe.
